Another triumphant day for the Pope in Britain
From morning to evening, beginning with his encounter with religious involved in education, then school pupils, the meeting with religious leaders (I had to miss this as I was at the Father Marquette Schools Mass), the meeting with Archbishop Rowan Williams, the speech in Westminster Hall (I had to miss that too as I was dealing with a pastoral situation) to the wonderful celebration of Vespers in Westminster Abbey, the Pope's visit is so far an unmitigated success, which is a great complement to the British who know how to be hospitable to their hosts.

The Abbey service was certainly rather stylish. Apparelled albs and multiple processional crosses ... very much to my taste I must say.
