Mass in a Connemara Cabin

Mass in a Connemara Cabin, 1883, Aloysius O'Kelly
On loan to the National Gallery of Ireland from the people of St Patrick's,
Edinburgh and the Trustees of the Archdiocese of St Andrew's, Edinburgh.
I received a postcard of this beautifully evocative painting recently. It reminds me of the stories my Irish parents used to tell me about their grandparents and Catholic life in rural and poor Ireland. I would love to get hold of a copy of this painting. Anyone know where I can get one? I have put a message on this website but have had no further comment.

Wow! - Vigil at London's BPAS

Something has happened in London. The prayers of pro-lifers around the world has made this possible. It is a very long time since I have seen so many people gathered in one place to witness for life in England.

From the 40 Days for Life blog:

Yesterday, I asked for prayers for the London campaign, as they were holding a major evening vigil in front of the abortion center — and they were told to expect a pro-abortion counter-protest. So here’s a quick update.

“The event was a massive success,” said Robert, the 40 Days for Life coordinator in London. “We had around 400 to 500 … at least! A really positive vibe and loads of media interest, too.” The vigil participants prayed and sang hymns. Even the media characterized the vigil as “peaceful.” A pro-abortion group did show up — blowing whistles, banging drums and chanting slogans. But they had no apparent impact on the vigil.
Thanks be to God.

PS: BPAS - "British Pregnancy Advisory Service", a major abortion provider in the UK.
